Welcome to the Green Earth Baking Community Forum

We couldn’t do this all by ourselves. In fact, we wouldn’t want to. After all, breaking bread is all about being in good company. Please make yourself at home and, if you’re so inclined, tell us what’s on your mind.

one way i live on a green budget is my by taking my own cup to my favorite coffee shop in the morning. I usually pack my own lunch and have started using Green Earth bread - I love this stuff! Love the story behind it and hope you all do more to support the environment.

Awesome Bread - even cooler that its made right here in portland. Stumbled upon it in a Fred Meyer this weekend. This is perfect addition to my lunches for work everyday. By far, the best tip I have for going green on a budget is to pack lunch as often as possible. I average about 4 out of 5 days a week and find that I save anywhere from $35 to $60 a week on snacks and lunches that I would purchase during the work hours.
I bought 15 perfect grains and recommend to everyone - i can believe it actually includes quinoa (I dont know if I spelled that right). Reminds me of fresh, homemade bread.
Never seen this bread before though...is it new to the market?
keep up the good work Green Earth..

cheap and green

I definitely think packing a lunch saves money and lets me buy higher quality green products for my meals. It saves on gas, packaging and cost.

Consolidating my driving helps me save on gas and emissions, so I'll shop or go to the gym on my way home from work, and try to do my errands in one trip over the weekend.

Also clothing exchanges with friends are a great way to save some money, and the impact of their production on the environment.

Thank You! Keep the Recommendations Coming..

Appreciate the input on your favorite green practices from bringing your own coffee cup to packing your own lunch to buying local and in bulk. As the weather gets colder here in the NW, we encourage everyone to stary warm and stay energy saving conscious. A couple tips - change your air filters once a month in the winter and try turning your ceiling fans the opposite direction. Both of these small changes may help you save energy which also means saving pennies for you. Look forward to the new green ideas in 2010. We'd love to hear if any of your new year's resolutions focus on a more green lifestyle?

People are doing many things to try to stop global warming. One thing people are doing is carpooling. Carpooling is driving with someone to a place that you are both going to. This minimizes the amount of greenhouse gases put into the air by a car.
The government is doing many things to help stop global warming. The government made a law called The Clean Air Act so there is less air pollution. Global warming is making people get very bad illnesses that could make them disabled, very sick, and sometimes even die. The Clean Air Act is making many companies change their products to decrease these problems. Part of the law says that you may not put a certain amount of pollutants in the air.
